Billing Circle requires a merchant and gateway account through AuthorizeNet, an affordable, leading internet ecommerce and merchant provider. AuthorizeNet can quickly set your company up with everything needed to begin accepting and processing credit card and eCheck transactions.
An E-commerce Merchant Account is an account that is opened for you in an approved Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and/or other credit card acquiring bank. This bank collects the funds from your customer's credit cards and forwards them to your existing bank account. Merchant banks charge a variable percent on processed transactions, known as a "Discount Rate", while the AuthorizeNet gateway charges a $0.10 per transaction fee.
